REFLECTIONS

As the semester comes to an end, it feels like we just started our first Design Research Dissertation (DRD) class. This module, while challenging, has really helped improve my writing and critical thinking skills.

Continuing from Design Research Methodology (DRM) made the transition into this module smoother and slightly reduced our workload. Since we had already learned the basics in DRM, we could focus more on improving our research in DRD. Task 1 required a lot of focus on discussions, findings, and conclusions. Creating a matrix before starting the discussion was really helpful. It made it easier to spot key themes and organize our data clearly.

Task 3 we got to design our own eBook. It was fun to combine research skills with creative design. However, halfway through the semester, I started feeling really tired and struggled with the eBook cover design. After several attempts, I finally created a design I was happy with. Looking back, this task taught me patience and problem-solving.

Task 4 was more straightforward. It mainly involved refining our content to fit the word count for the Kreate article while keeping the key points clear. This task reminded me of the importance of clear and simple writing.

Finishing all three tasks on time was such a relief. My chosen research topic was challenging because there weren’t many resources available, but I’m proud of the final result. It pushed me to think deeper and stay flexible when things got tough.

Throughout this module, I kept revising and editing my article. The repeated changes were stressful, and I often worried about finishing on time. But I pushed through and managed to meet the deadlines. I’m so thankful to Ms. Jinchi for her support, patience, and helpful feedback. Her guidance helped me stay focused and calm during stressful moments. Ms. Jinchi’s advice was truly valuable. Her support and encouragement kept me motivated and on track. I’m really grateful for her dedication to helping us succeed.

Looking back, this module has been a meaningful experience. I’ve learned skills that will help me in future academic and professional projects. I’m proud to have completed my dissertation and gained a better understanding of the research process and all the effort it takes.

As this chapter comes to a close, I can confidently say that this module has been a transformative experience. It has equipped me with essential skills and insights that will undoubtedly benefit me in future academic and professional endeavors. I leave this module not only with a completed dissertation but also with a deeper appreciation for the research process and the effort it entails.
