LECTURES
Week 5
Mr. Martin conducted the lecture in the photo studio and gave us an introduction to the different scenes we need to film in the production shoot. He went through in detail the types of shots like ( Middle shot, close up shot etc. ) and how to handle cameras. We are expected to film ourselves in the next week.
Week6
Shooting Day No Lecture Class.
Week 7
In this week, we have learned about color correction and color grading. The process of coloring digital video footage involves three steps:
- establishing a picture profile
- color correcting the footage
- color grading the footage.
Color correction is a technical process that fixes color issues and makes footage appear as naturalistic as possible. The idea is for colors to look clean and real, as human eyes would see them in the real world.
Color grading is also technical, but it's more of a creative concern. The color grading process adds atmosphere and emotion to shots by coloring footage in new, often unnatural ways.
After learning about color correction and color grading in film, we have been given a quiz to test out our knowledge on it.

WEEK7
We are tasked to edit a short 3 video clip and color correct and grade them accordingly following Mr Martin's instructions. We learnt about adjustment layers and i color corrected them to be the same consistent appearance.
PROJECT 2A: PRODUCTION SHOOT VIDEO
For this task, Mr. Martin instructed us to shoot different clips of "Everything, everywhere all at once". We were asked to practice different types of shooting angles following the clips he sent us.

We kickstarted the shooting process in the photo studio with all the lightings and equipment set up properly. It was quite a fun process as we had to adjust different camera angles and ensure that everything was shot well. Besides that we also need to make sure the audio have recorded properly. Here are some behind the scenes we took in the shooting process.
After shooting, our director and photographer to upload the raw video clips of each scene and also the audios. Mr. Martin told us to edit the scenes interesting and make it become a movie trailer, we are free to use any background music that we like as well.
Process:
As instructed, we will need to colour grade our production shoot with the combination of below:
- Teal & Orange,
- Bluish (cold),
- Greenish (cold),
- Brownish (warm),
- Desaturation, 50%-70%,
- B & W, High Contrast
Step 1:
I edited the scenes to the main parts we need and unliked the audio from the original video clips first and placed them in random order. Next I went onto YouTube to search for cinematic trailer clip or music teaser but more on the trailer type as my idea is to turn this into a trailer film.
Step 2:
The recorded audios that I imported into Adobe Premium Pro, I increased the volume of some of the audios clip because the background music may overcover the sound of the audios.
Step 3:
For teal and orange color correction, I adjusted "Faded Film" to add a subtle faded effect. Beside that, I increase "Vibrance" to make the colors pop.
Step 4:
For Bluish (Cold), I go to the RGB Curves, I increase the Blue color and increase the the whole visual more bluish.
Step 5:
For Bluish (Cold), I go to the RGB Curves, I increase the Blue color and increase the the whole visual more bluish.
Step 6:
For Color Wheels & Match, I use the "Color Wheels & Match" to adjust the shadows, midtones, and highlights for the desired contrast level.
Step 7:
For Greenish (Cold), I click into the RGB Curves, I decrease the Red channel and increase the Green channel in the midtones.
Step 8:
For Brownish (Warm) I go to Basic Correction: I increase the "Temperature" to 87.6% add warmth. I adjust the "Tint" towards magenta and increase it to 23.9%.
Step 9:
For Desaturation (50%-70%),I go to Basic Correction. I Decrease the "Saturation" slider to the desired level 60%.
Final Result:
PROJECT 2B: TIKTOK
Proposal Slide
Process 1: After recording the video clip I put into a folder. I name the folder "vsp tiktok".
Process 2: After that, I input into Capcut and add transition effect into the video. Process 3: After adding transition I put different color filter to make the video more interesting.
FEEDBACK
REFLECTION
Project 2A:
Mr. Martin said I still need to adjust my color correction.
Project 2B:
Mr. Martin said that my story line is good but I still need to add filter to make the video don't look so plain.
Week 5
"After working on the 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' project, I have learned how to perform color correction. This experience has been both fun and interesting, allowing me to delve into a crucial aspect of video editing. Through using Adobe Premiere Pro, I have acquired a new skill set that enhances my ability to create visually appealing content. The process involved adjusting color balance, correcting exposure, and applying various filters to achieve the desired look and feel for the footage. This project not only improved my technical skills but also expanded my creative capabilities in video production."
Week 6
"After completing the TikTok assignment, I have learned how to film a TikTok video effectively. This assignment presented a new challenge for me because I don't usually create TikTok content, and it was my first time filming one. The learning curve was steep, but it was a rewarding experience.
Through this process, I discovered how to enhance the appeal of my videos by incorporating various elements such as filters, music, and effects. I explored different filming techniques, experimented with creative angles, and understood the importance of timing and pacing in short-form content. Additionally, I learned to utilize TikTok's in-app editing tools to polish the final product, ensuring it was engaging and visually captivating.
This assignment not only improved my technical skills but also broadened my understanding of social media content creation. It has given me the confidence to explore more in the realm of digital content and provided me with valuable insights into the dynamic world of TikTok."
