FINAL PROJECT: STOP MOTION

For this Final Project, we can choose to either work in pairs or individually. This task requires us to create a storyboard and come up with a topic ourselves. The video duration for pairs should be around one minute, while for individuals, the video duration should be 30 seconds. Students must get approval for their topic and storyboard before beginning to shoot their stop motion video.

Proposal Of Final Project

Shooting
I have worked as individuals to create this Final Project Stop Motion video. As I worked solo, I decided to do the shooting at home. Also, consider about the lighting issue, I open my house yellow light and find an angle to shoot my stop motion. I developed the topic "Paws Of Destiny," which emphasizes we need to love our pets and don't abandon them. We need to take care our pet.

Before the shooting I have bought the props needed and also printed out the background and floor picture. I prepare clay to make my character. Next, I use Lego to make a big rubbish bin. I also print out the background so that the background are not so plain and I use green color paper for the grass visual. The most important things is I use a big white board put it on the table and I sticked the paper on the cardboard so that it could be standing while shooting.

After every single prop are been prepared I start using "Stop Motion Studio App" film stop motion. In this process for me is quite difficult because I need to be careful every single move of the clay.

The process took me 3 hours to finish shooting this stop motion. I took 250 pictures. Whole video duration around 50 seconds.

After export the video out from "Stop Motion Studio App" I import the video into Adobe Premium Pro.

Before I start editing the video clip. I go to google search all the sound effect I want to use. I download into my computer and I upload to google drive so that I can find the sound effect conveniently.

After all this preparation I start edit my stop motion. I add the suitable sound effect into the video and I also add music into the video intro and outro so it make the video can bring out what I want to present.

I used Capcut edit the Movie Title and the Video cover.

REFLECTION

Experience
Working on the Final Project Stop Motion video solo was a significant learning experience. The project, titled "Paws Of Destiny," aimed to convey the importance of loving and caring for pets, emphasizing that they should never be abandoned. I carried out the shooting at home to have control over the environment and lighting. Preparing the props, including clay characters, Lego constructions, and printed backgrounds, was a meticulous process that required careful planning and creativity.

Using the "Stop Motion Studio App" to film the project was challenging, particularly in ensuring the smooth and precise movement of the clay models. The entire process took about three hours, during which I captured 250 images, resulting in a 50-second video. This experience taught me the importance of patience and attention to detail in stop-motion animation.

Overall, this project was a valuable experience in solo filmmaking, emphasizing the importance of preparation, attention to detail, and the integration of various multimedia elements to create a compelling story.

Observation
Throughout the project, I observed several key aspects:

1. Lighting: The yellow lighting in my house provided a warm ambiance, but I had to be cautious about shadows and consistency in lighting across frames. Finding the right angle to shoot was crucial to avoid unwanted reflections and shadows.

2. Prop Preparation: The detailed preparation of props, including using a whiteboard for stability and green paper for grass, was essential for creating a visually appealing scene. The use of printed backgrounds added depth and context to the animation.

3. Technical Challenges: The technical aspect of stop-motion animation required precise movements and consistent framing. Each minor adjustment to the clay models had to be carefully executed to maintain fluidity in the animation.

Findings
Several important findings emerged from this project:

1. Importance of Planning: Thorough planning and preparation of props and backgrounds significantly contributed to the efficiency and quality of the shoot. Having all materials ready beforehand made the filming process smoother.
2. Sound Effects and Music: Adding sound effects and music enhanced the storytelling aspect of the video. The careful selection and integration of audio elements helped convey the intended message more effectively.
3. Editing Tools: Utilizing Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing and Capcut for creating the movie title and cover proved to be effective tools for polishing the final product. The combination of these tools allowed for a professional finish to the stop-motion video.
