Task 3 Recap brief

After analysing the design of your choice in Task 2, you will now produce a work of design, inspired/influenced by the one you had analysed, or as a reaction to it. You should also apply your knowledge of design principles in your creation. You may use any medium and/or materials that are suitable to convey your visual message. Direct use of photographs is not permitted.

Process

Process 1: The first layer I insert gradient color and I chose to put red, orange and yellow is because this is a symbol of temperature really hot. It is related to climate change.
Process 2: I insert sun and create a curves adjustment layer. I adjust the sun color looks more darker.
Process 3: I insert the earth and adjust the size smaller than sun to make it hierarchy. I used smart object function on the earth layer and do liquefy to make the visual of earth looks like melting. Besides that, I also in a new curves adjustment layer and make the earth looks more brighter to contrast with the sun.
Process 4: I add a layer of sea to let it looks like the earth melting and become wide sea.
Process 5: Lastly, I add a title on the poster 'The Melting'. I put the title white color is because inspired by the ice break. I also used smart object function on the layer and apply liquify on the words to looks like it is melting.

Rationale

A rationale, in about 150-200 words, explaining/defending the decisions made in your design, the meaning/purpose of the design and the design principles that are found in the design.

"The Melting" is a conceptual artwork inspired by the gradual dissolution of ice, representing the important selections made in design in the era of climate change. UNSDG target 13's emphasis on the urgency of solving environmental issues is expressed in this design. With its creation in design ideas, "The Melting" tells a moving story. Vibrant colors that represent the sun contrast with cold colors that represent the Earth, emphasizing the extreme difference in temperature and this have achieve contrast design principle. The sun and Earth's prominence further defines hierarchy and emphasizes their relationship to the climate issue. Furthermore, the harmony among objects like boats, buildings, and trees achieves balance design principle demonstrating the equilibrium required for sustainable coexistence. In addition, this design also present word and image design principle. Through its composition, "The Melting" represents an image of the urgency of combating climate change as well as an inspiration for thinking on the effects of human activity on the environment.
