REFLECTION

Experience：

This is my degree first semester and it is my first time learning typography subject. From Week1 to Week 7 I have learn many history knowledge about typography. Besides that, I also learn about the practical skill how to apply typography through my life. For example, after learning this subject I think I can design a book cover. From task 1, I have learn type expression it is super fun because I can design my own font pattern. Furthermore, I learn how to do basic gif. For me this is a very new experience I have not done any animation before this subject. Task 1 exercise 2 I learn how to kerning and arrange the text formatting. I learn how to visualize the text look more neat and attractive. In task 2, I learn how to visualize and make my words looks more consistence. Other than that, I have learn many in task 3. When we come to the assignment at the last few weeks. We need to rush our work and time management is very important. When I was doing task 3 for me is a bit rush. It is because I need to use so much time to adjust my font. We need time to think what font we want. I design it out I still need time to convert to font lab and adjust the side bearing. In task 3 I had learn how to use illustrator ai to design my font and learn how to convert from Ai illustrator to font lab 7. In addition, I know how to design a font poster this is a big achievement for me. Within this 14 weeks I have learn many typography design skill and knowledge. 

Observation:

Through my observation, typography need to be very particular in every small details. Typography also used in many everyday applications and is not just found in design. Its crucial significance in effective communication was shown by observing how kerning and tracking affect audience interpretation and comprehension of text meanings. For example, alignment, kerning, paragraph spacing, letter consistence and line length. These are the things that, had I not been a creator, I would not have noticed in my everyday life, but I now know that even small adjustments can have a big impact. I will therefore pay closer attention to details and take extra care to ensure that every stage is completed to perfection.

Finding: 

After learning this subject I found out I starting pay attention to font design around me. Besides that, I found out typography is very interesting. It is because I found out that after learning Typography, this subject made me become a more detail person and started aware the typography design on the books I read or Kpop album that I bought. Then I found out that Typography is very important element to interface design and graphic design it is because is the first visual impression to attract audience.
